Position Summary

The purpose of the Elementary Related Arts Teacher is to prepare students for meaningful lives by contributing to their spiritual, academic, social, physical, and creative development through specialized instruction in a related arts discipline. As a called educator serving the body of Christ, this role combines instructional brilliance with a heart for disciplining children, fostering an engaging environment where students can grow in both skill and faith.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Elementary Related Arts Teacher is expected to serve the school community through the following core responsibilities:

Spiritual Leadership & Discipleship
  • Contribute to the spiritual growth of the school programs through personal example, professional studies, personal devotions, and worship.
  • Actively disciple children and cultivate a godly, servant-hearted classroom culture.
Curriculum & Instruction
  • Plan and deliver engaging instruction in the assigned related arts area to promote student growth, creativity, skill development, and subject appreciation.
  • Establish and adjust course outlines and objectives aligned with curriculum guidelines, state standards, and school goals.
Classroom Management & Student Development
  • Guide students’ personal and social development by establishing clear rules and procedures for classroom participation, transitions, conduct, and the proper use of equipment.
Assessment & Feedback
  • Assess student learning through age-appropriate projects, performances, demonstrations, or skill-based activities.
  • Maintain and document student learning results, providing constructive feedback, coaching, and recording attendance and behavior.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Partner with classroom teachers to reinforce school-wide goals.
  • Actively communicate with parents regarding student progress, answering questions, and suggesting educational resources.
Institutional Effectiveness
  • Contribute to the school’s long‑term effectiveness by identifying issues, recommending courses of action, and implementing administrative directives.
  • Support school programs, performances, showcases, field days, and exhibitions related to the assigned discipline.
Professional Growth
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and actively participating in professional learning communities.

  • A strong, growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ; godly character, humility, and a servant's heart.
  • Must be an active member/ministry partner of Calvary PSL or a like‑minded church, with full acceptance of the CCA Statement of Faith and Biblical Lifestyle Commitments.
Professional & Personal Attributes
  • Possess a passion for teaching, a love for children, and a "with‑it‑ness" in classroom management.
  • Must be hard‑working, enthusiastic, patient, flexible, organized, motivated, creative, and a collaborative team player with a forgiving heart and respect for individual differences.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or a related field of study from an accredited institution.
  • Degree, certification, training, or demonstrated expertise in the assigned related arts discipline is highly preferred.
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred.
  • Current or in‑progress State and/or ACSI teacher certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use office equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move materials up to 25 pounds.
