Job summary

i9 Sports - North San Francisco County, CA is seeking an energetic Recess Program Coordinator/Coach for elementary school sites in San Mateo and Foster City. You will lead games, supervise students, and create a safe, active recess experience on the yard.

This part-time, school-year role offers an hourly rate of $30 and requires CPR/First Aid and DOJ/FBI background clearance. Join a small team coordinating with fellow coaches to ensure smooth daily operations and inclusive activities for all

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience working with elementary-age children in schools, camps, or youth programs.
• Strong communication and classroom/group management skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain before start date.
• Cleared DOJ/FBI background check is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate organized games and activities during school recess.
• Supervise students on the yard, ensuring a safe, respectful environment.
• Set up and break down equipment at session start/end.
• Encourage participation across all skill levels and promote inclusive play.
• Manage behavior using positive reinforcement and communicate concerns to staff.
• Coordinate with fellow coaches to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Track attendance and complete daily reports on activities and incidents.
• Maintain records for program oversight and communication with school partners.
• Represent the program professionally with students, staff, and parents.
