Job summary

Lincoln Land Community College is seeking enthusiastic student workers to serve as Elementary Reading Tutors supporting pre-school and elementary students with reading activities at multiple LLCC locations in Springfield, IL. Education majors are encouraged to apply and gain hands-on classroom experience.

Student workers earn minimum wage and may work up to 20 hours per week; eligibility requires Federal Work Study status, half-time enrollment, and satisfactory academic progress.

Qualifications

• Must maintain satisfactory academic progress.
• Must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours) during the semester of employment, with the exception of summer term.
• Complete LLCC’s mandatory harassment prevention training within 30 days of employment.
• A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required.
• Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist pre-school and elementary age students with reading activities at various LLCC locations.
• Uphold LLCC’s mission and standards of conduct in dealings with students, staff, faculty and the public.
