Job summary

GradePower Learning Cary is seeking part-time tutors to support elementary language and math after school in our Cary, NC learning center. You will work evenings (Mon–Thu 3:00–7:00 pm) and Saturday mornings (9:00–12:00 pm), teaching up to 3 students with GradePower methodologies.

In-person role requiring ability to commute to Cary; a background check is mandatory. Bachelor’s degree or teaching certification is preferred, and knowledge of K‑5 curriculum is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Strong English written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to guide students’ understanding across elementary subjects.
• Capacity to manage multiple students concurrently (up to 3).

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
• Teach online and in-person as needed.
• Follow GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Complete daily student communication updates.
• Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

We are currently seeking part‑time tutors for a role in our learning center at GradePower Learning Cary. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching elementary language and math, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Position Requirements

All Tutors at GradePower Learning work during after‑school and evening hours: Mon–Thu (3:00 pm – 7:00 pm) as well as Saturday mornings (9:00 am – 12:00 pm). You do not need to be available all of these days, but reliability is a must.

This role is in‑person. You must be able to commute to this location. This position has an online component. Relocation packages are not available. Background check screening is mandatory.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Third or fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to 5th grade curriculum

Experience

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to 5th grade (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Job Type and Schedule

Part‑time. Schedule: evenings, Monday to Thursday, Saturday availability.

Salary

$15 – $18 per hour, based on previous education and experience.
