Job summary

Qualifications

• Possess, or be willing to apply for, a TEA Educational Aide Certificate (personal expense)
• Educational Aide certificate as established by the State Board for Educator Certification
• Hold a high school diploma or its equivalent
• Have three creditable years of experience or 30 semester hours of college credit with some emphasis on child growth and development

Responsibilities

• Uphold and enforce school rules, policies and board directives
• Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials and displays
• Work with students or small groups on instructional activities
• Assist in administration and scoring of tests and assignments
• Supervise students during the school day inside and outside the classroom
• Notify teacher of any student needs or problems
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom
• Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment
• Prepare reports and maintain records under supervision
• Participate in in-service programs, meetings and events
• Provide orientation to substitute teachers
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
