Job summary

Whitehall City School District in Columbus, Ohio seeks a Paraprofessional to support instructional programs and assist certified staff in a safe learning environment. Reports to Building Principal; non-exempt, classified position per ORC.

Employment terms follow applicable collective bargaining agreements. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, an Educational Aide Permit, and successful BCIs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Educational Aide Permit issued by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
• Successful background check (BCI/FBI) required.
• Meet federal requirements under ESEA, as amended.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Support student supervision and safety.
• Maintain confidentiality under FERPA.
• Assist with instructional activities as directed by licensed staff.
• Provide tutoring and small group support under teacher direction.
• Supervise students in classroom and non-classroom settings.
• Assist bus driver in maintaining safe student conduct and behavior reports as needed.
