Job summary

Hemlock Public Schools seeks a Part-Time Paraprofessional to support elementary students in various instructional settings. The position prioritizes collaboration with teachers and staff to implement instructional activities and accommodations as directed by classroom teachers.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Background check and fingerprinting required.
• Experience with elementary-aged students.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with students with disabilities.
• No health restrictions; able to assist with personal care when needed.

Responsibilities

• Relate to and instruct children in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings.
• Develop and use strategies to improve student achievement in core subjects.
• Implement and reinforce classroom discipline with positive reinforcement.
• Contribute to a professional learning team and collaborate with colleagues.
• Support students with a range of special needs and behavior plans.
• Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional times and maintain confidentiality.
