Job summary

Flagstaff Academy Charter School in Longmont, CO seeks an Elementary Paraprofessional for the 2026-27 school year. You will supervise lunch and recess, assist grade-level teachers with lesson prep, and support small groups to reinforce learning materials.

The role requires collaboration with the lead paraprofessional and teachers, a positive classroom environment, and flexibility. CPR/First Aid and other certifications are required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Education or training in work with school-age children.
• One of the listed qualifications: 4-year degree in education or related field.
• Two years of college and six months relevant experience.
• Three years of relevant experience; lead must complete six semester hours or 40 clock hours of training.
• Patience and flexibility; ability to adapt to varying needs.
• Must be at least 21 years old; able to stand for 8 hours.
• Team player; strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Background check clearance as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with literacy and math small groups.
• Foster a positive and safe learning environment with effective behavior management.
• Ensure safety and well-being of students during activities and transitions.
• Assist with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning materials.
• Monitor lunch and recess duties.
• Assist with the afternoon driveline.
• Participate in staff development as required.
