Job summary

North Clackamas School District seeks an elementary paraeducator for a 2.5‑hour day position (0.3125 FTE), part‑time, with duties supporting teachers and student groups. The incumbent performs a full range of paraeducator responsibilities and applies vocational experience to support student learning.

Initial wage placement follows the NCSD/ OSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement; minimum qualifications include an associate degree or two years post‑high school education.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Associate's Degree or two years of post-high school education in related areas.
• May require first aid, CPR and/or defibrillator certification.
• Ability to work under interruptions and changing priorities with students.
• Proficiency in English language for effective communication and instruction.

Responsibilities

• Works collaboratively by assisting teachers in assessment, supporting curriculum, student interactions, enforcing safe behaviors, and enhancing social growth of students in the school setting.
• Implements behavior support and intervention plans as directed by a teacher; documents progress and maintains weekly reports.
• Provide limited first aid when necessary and monitor medical concerns to prevent hazards.
• Communicate respectfully with students, parents, staff, and community members while protecting confidentiality.
• Manage student behavior using trained techniques to ensure safety.
• Provide instructional support and tutoring in group and one-on-one settings.
• Supervise safety during activities such as recess, bus duty, crossing guard duty, and hallway supervision.
