Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Pass ParaPro Assessment or willingness to pass.
• Associate degree or college credits toward bachelor's may be accepted.
• Experience with children or in education preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Background check required per Utah DPS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one academic and behavioral interventions as needed.
• Help students stay engaged and on task during lessons and activities.

• Assist with materials prep and daily classroom routines.

• Perform other duties to support students, teachers, and the school.

Overview

Voyage Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Paraeducator to join our team. As a K–6 charter school, we utilize the Expeditionary Learning model to provide engaging, student-centered instruction and foster a collaborative, supportive learning environment for all students. Paraeducators work under the supervision of a licensed classroom teacher to support student learning, classroom management, and school operations. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, collaborating with educators, and making a positive impact on student success.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering classroom instruction and supporting daily learning activities.
• Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic concepts and skills.
• Provide one-on-one academic and behavioral interventions for students requiring additional support.
• Help students remain engaged and on task during lessons and classroom activities.
• Monitor and document student progress as directed by classroom teachers.
• Assist with classroom organization, preparation of instructional materials, and daily classroom routines.
• Support positive student behavior and foster a safe, respectful learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support students, teachers, and the school community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Applicants must have passed, or be willing to pass, the ParaPro Assessment.
• An associate degree or equivalent college credits toward a bachelor's degree may be accepted in place of the ParaPro Assessment.
• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Must successfully pass a background check in accordance with Utah Department of Public Safety requirements.

Schedule and Compensation

• Part-Time: 26–29 hours per week
• Monday–Friday
• Time off during school breaks and major holidays, including Fall Break, Winter Break, Spring Break, and other scheduled school closures
• Pay based on qualifications and experience.
