Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Must complete one of the credential options (AA or higher) or 72 credits or ParaPro/Paraprofessional assessments.
• Official documentation will be required upon hire.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students with physical or behavioral needs.
• Supports students' special health care needs and develops daily living and behavioral skills.
• Assists staff with classroom preparation and retrieval, use and storage of equipment and supplies.
• May supervise and assist students in library, classrooms, resource rooms, self-contained classrooms, playgrounds, or while getting on and off a bus.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Associate degree (AA) or higher

Two years of study (72 quarter credits)

ParaPro assessment score 455+

Paraprofessional assessment score 220+
