Job summary

Lake Washington School District is seeking a part-time Paraprofessional to assist teachers with individual and small group instruction for students with special needs. The role supports health care needs, daily living and behavioral skills, and may involve supervision in classrooms, libraries, or during bus transitions.

Work occurs in a community elementary school within the Juanita Learning Community, on a 180-day calendar with 2.5 hours per day in a 9am–12pm window.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Hold an Associate degree (AA) or higher OR
• Completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours, OR
• ParaPro Assessment with Reading/Writing 324 and Mathematics 325
• Must pass criminal background check

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students with physical or behavioural needs or medically fragile.
• Supports students' health care needs and helps develop daily living and behavioral skills.
• Assists staff with classroom preparation, equipment use and storage, and retrieval.
• May supervise students in library, classrooms, resource rooms, playgrounds, or while getting on/off a bus.
