Job summary

Mad River Local Schools Brantwood Elementary in Dayton, Ohio, is seeking a Para Aide to assist in grades K–4. The position offers seven hours per day with a starting wage of $18.49 per hour and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, meet No Child Left Behind standards, strong communication skills, and the ability to support reading, writing, and mathematics under IEP guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school diploma or its equivalency.
• Meets No Child Left Behind standards (i.e. associate degree or 48/72 semester hours or equivalent demonstrated through state/local assessment).
• Demonstrated effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with state-of-the-art equipment/skills, including data processing; Microsoft Word preferred.
• Proficiency in English reading.
• Ability to cope with stressful situations as related to special needs children.
• Ability to deal with medical conditions per student IEP.
• Physically capable to lift and manage special needs students when necessary.
