Job summary

Bellingham Public Schools is seeking a .6 Occupational Therapist for elementary school students in Bellingham, MA. The role focuses on sensory-motor integration and school-based OT within an integrated therapies model, with ongoing collaboration with therapists and classroom staff.

The position requires Massachusetts licensure eligibility and a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy; masters preferred. Salary is per BTA contract, with full-time benefits as applicable to the district.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of state and federal special education laws, regulations, and mandates.
• Work collaboratively with staff, parents, administrators.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Knowledge of and ability to implement social skills groups.
• Ability to implement and utilize positive behavioral support strategies.

Responsibilities

• Understand school-based therapy and related assessment practices.
• Deliver occupational therapy services within an integrated therapies approach with ongoing consultation with therapists and classroom staff.
• Evaluate students’ occupational needs and develop measurable goals/objectives.
• Conduct evaluations and provide written evaluation reports within mandated timelines.
• Provide written progress reports on a quarterly basis and as required.
• Attend IEP meetings and other team meetings as needed.
