This full-time contracted position offers a competitive starting salary range of $68,300 to $84,300, plus benefits;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music education or a related field required.
• Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Music (PK-12).
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned elementary instrumental music instruction.
• Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in teaching orchestral string instruments, including beginning and developing instruction for violin, viola, cello, and bass.

EFFECTIVE DATE: CONTRACTED POSITION AVAILABLE JANUARY 19, 2027

COMPENSATION: PER RTMEA CONTRACT

STARTING SALARY RANGE

$68,300 (Bachelor’s - Step 1) to $84,300 (Master’s - Step 6)

The Rose Tree Media School District seeks a dynamic and student-centered Elementary Music Teacher to provide engaging instrumental music instruction while leading the district's elementary orchestra and strings program. The ideal candidate designs engaging, standards-aligned instruction that develops students' musical knowledge, creativity, and performance skills while fostering a lifelong appreciation for music. This educator will provide high-quality beginning and developing strings instruction, build enthusiasm for orchestra participation, and create meaningful performance opportunities that inspire student growth and confidence. We are seeking an educator who creates a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students can actively participate, collaborate, and experience success through music. This full-time, contracted position is available beginning on January 19, 2027.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in music education or a related field required.
• Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Music (PK-12).
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned elementary instrumental music instruction.
• Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in teaching orchestral string instruments, including beginning and developing instruction for violin, viola, cello, and bass.
• Ability to develop, direct, and grow an elementary orchestra and strings program through effective instruction, recruitment, and performance opportunities.
• Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment that supports student engagement and musical growth.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
• Commitment to developing students' creativity, musical literacy, collaboration, and performance skills while fostering a lifelong appreciation for music.
