Job summary

Sparta Elementary School in Sparta, MO, is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to lead the health office. The RN will support students' physical, mental, and emotional health while maintaining a safe learning environment for K-4 students.

The role includes triage, medication administration, IHP/EAP management, and health screenings. Strong school health experience and licensing are preferred; this is an on-site position.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily clinical triage, first aid, and emergency care for student illnesses and injuries.
• Administer prescribed daily and PRN medications; execute specialized nursing care (e.g., glucose monitoring, insulin delivery, nebulizer treatments, or gastrostomy feedings).
• Formulate and manage Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for students with chronic health conditions (e.g., severe allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures).
• Conduct state-mandated vision, hearing, and physical screenings, coordinating referral follow-ups with parents.
• Maintain accurate electronic student health records, ensuring full compliance with state immunization mandates, FERPA, and HIPAA.
• Educate students, staff, and families on infection control, hygiene, and wellness practices.
