Responsibilities

• Teaches district approved curriculum.
• Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and district procedures.
• Develops lesson plans and provides individualized and small group instruction.
• Communicates regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
• Evaluates students' academic and social growth and keeps records.
• Identifies student needs and develops strategies for IEPs.
• Plans and coordinates work of aides, volunteers in classroom and on field trips.
