Job summary

Richmond Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Music Teacher to organize schedules for classroom teachers and develop a comprehensive music program. You will teach instrumental and/or vocal music, form ensembles, and serve as a resource for teachers.

Responsibilities include scheduling activities, designing a three-domain music curriculum, and preparing progress reports for students. You may recruit students for ensembles and manage instrument inventory as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Virginia Teaching License with endorsement in Music: Vocal/Choral PreK-12.

Responsibilities

• Establishes instructional activity schedules for each assigned school.
• Develops a curriculum emphasizing music concepts in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains.
• Prepares progress reports for students in instrumental or vocal areas.
• Recruits students for instrumental and/or vocal music and coordinates rehearsals and performances.
• Maintains inventory and coordinates repairs for district instruments.
