You will implement varied instructional techniques, maintain records, and participate in school events and faculty meetings to support student development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education required and Indiana teaching license valid for the applicable elementary grade.
• Prior experience in K-6 classroom environment preferred; ability to align with Indiana State Standards.

Responsibilities

• Participate in in-service training programs and faculty meetings.
• Direct students during drills, assemblies, recess and field trips as assigned.
• Be available to students and parents for educational purposes.
• Collaborate with staff to plan instructional goals and methods.
• Maintain seating charts, schedules, and emergency lesson plans in substitute files.
• Assist in selecting books and instructional materials.
• Maintain inventory of classroom supplies.
• Request additional materials as needed by the principal.
• Help students master instructional materials and concepts.
• Establish independent study and enrichment opportunities.
• Read to and listen to students; engage in oral communication activities.
• Monitor student progress and communicate milestones to parents and administrators.
• Maintain open lines of communication with students and parents about progress.
• Assume non-classroom duties such as hall supervision as assigned.
• Attend and participate in faculty meetings and professional development.
• Develop cooperative relations with staff and pursue professional growth.
• Stay informed about changes in the profession via meetings and journals.
• Support co-curricular activities as assigned; encourage attendance at events.
• Fulfill other tasks as assigned by the principal.
