Paul Robeson Charter School (PRCS) is a free, lottery-based, open-enrollment charter school currently serving students from across Trenton in grades 3-8. The 2025-2026 school year is an exciting year for PRCS because we will start serving students in 2nd grade and become a full K-8 school!

The mission of Paul Robeson CS is to provide a personalized education that challenges, inspires, and prepares students to passionately pursue their dreams & lead a life of active civic engagement. Opportunity

PRCS is seeking passionate and hardworking Elementary & Middle School STEM Teachers to join the PRCS family for the 2025-26 School Year. The teacher in this role will work with K-8th grade students. The teacher will deliver and design/curate student-centered lessons in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).

Each core subject teacher at Paul Robeson is responsible for a single content area. Additionally, all teachers receive extensive preparation and collaborative planning time, along with regular support and coaching from a departmentalized leadership team. All staff members are considered critical players in decision-making processes and have the opportunity to influence the overall direction of the school.

Responsibilities
  1. Plan and provide excellent instruction, making every minute count in your classroom;
  2. Develop detailed lesson plans, materials, homework assignments, and assessments based on state standards and school-wide goals for student achievement;
  3. Provide differentiated learning opportunities to support each student’s academic growth;
  4. Set and reinforce clear expectations for student engagement;
  5. Continuously improve based on feedback and coaching from school leaders;
  6. Collaborate with other teachers to increase student engagement and achievement;
  7. Reward positive student engagement and hold students accountable using school-wide systems;
  8. Engage with family members regularly and participate in school-wide family engagement activities, including phone calls and meetings;
  9. Provide additional academic support to students after school for at least one hour per week.

Educational Background and Work Experience
  1. Experience driving student achievement results;
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field;
  3. Must hold or be actively working to obtain NJ teacher certification within the first year of employment, and completed by the second year.
