MSD of Warren Township seeks an Elementary and Int/Middle Media Assistant/Secretary to support the Media Center/Mediaplex and assist teachers and students. The role is non-exempt, hourly, 184 days per year, 8 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Responsibilities include circulation, inventory, tech support, and helping with library services.
Salary follows the Secretary Salary Schedule level 4 with benefits under the Support Staff schedule.
Elementary and Int/Middle Media Assistant/Secretary

The work year for the Elementary and Int/Middle Media Assistant/Secretary includes all days when students are scheduled to attend school, plus 2 additional days.
The Elementary and Int/Middle Media Assistant/Secretary is paid on the "Secretary Salary Schedule," level 4, and is eligible for benefits on the "Support Staff" benefits schedule.
The Elementary and Int/Middle Media Assistant/Secretary is supported by the District Media Specialist. Both the Media Specialist and the Media Assistant report to the building Principal.
The Elementary and Int/Middle Media Assistant/Secretary does not supervise any other employee(s).
Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform school-based duties associated with the daily operation of the Media Center/Mediaplex, as well as providing staff support in the training and use of the Media Center/Mediaplex.
The Elementary Media Assistant/Secretary functions at an instructional assistant level capacity, performing a variety of functions in a school Media Center assisting the District Media Specialist in the operation of the Media Center in some cases providing instruction as a related arts class for K-6 students and assisting teachers and students in the full use of library services. Performs related work as directed.
The Int/Middle Media Assistant/Secretary functions at an assistant level capacity and performs moderately complex maintenance, inventory, and training on technology, as well as assisting students and staff with their Mediaplex service needs. Performs related work as directed.
While the following tasks are necessary for the work of the unit, they are not an essential part of the purpose of this position and may also be performed by other unit members.
High school diploma or GED is required.
Willing to train a person who has a passion for supporting teachers and students in their learning experiences.
Able to meet the requirements of a paraprofessional as outlined in ESSA. Pass the required Expanded Criminal History Check and Expanded Child Protection Index Check. Must have at least an associates degree or two years of college or passed the ParaPro Assessment. The Highlander Park offers the ParaPro Assessment at no cost for all Warren Township prospective employees. Testing is offered Monday through Thursday at 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Ability to perform the essential functions, meet the performance aptitudes, and fulfill the physical/sensory/environmental requirements of the job (with or without reasonable accommodations) is required.
Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds).
