The Part-Time Instructor Will
  • Teach engaging curriculum using company‑created materials for advanced students to lead small mathematical classes.
  • Actively involve students in each class or student‑led learning.
  • Manage a classroom of up to 16 students.
  • Grade and provide feedback on tests and assignments.
  • Build relationships with students and families to make a lasting impact on their educational journeys.
  • Encourage a love of learning and critical thinking in mathematics.
The Ideal Candidate Has
  • Bachelor’s degree (required).
    • A degree in a STEM‑related or educational field is strongly preferred.
  • Strong content knowledge in mathematics.
  • Classroom teaching experience at the K‑12 level is preferred.
    • Experience teaching or tutoring students.
Not Required
  • A formal teaching credential is not required for this position.
Schedule (Academic Year)
  • AoPS Academy is an after‑school program with classes in the evenings and on weekends. Candidates must be available to teach during weekday after‑school hours (as early as 4 pm) and/or on weekends.
  • This position requires a minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class.
  • Each course meets once per week for 1 hour 45 minutes.

The Northbrook team is currently looking for an instructor for Honors Math Level 1 on Sundays from 10:15 am – 12 pm.

Schedule (Summer)
  • During the summer, we offer multiple two‑week camps between June and August.
  • Camp classes are held Monday‑Friday for 3 hours a day, with both morning and afternoon sessions.
Campus Location
  • This is an in‑person position at our Northbrook campus location.
  • Candidates must be located in Northbrook, Illinois or the greater area and must be able to commute to our campus.
