Job summary

South Washington County Schools seeks a Lunchroom/Recess Paraprofessional for Royal Oaks Elementary School to supervise students during lunch and recess and to uphold safety and behavioral standards.

You will work 3.0 hours per day (10:10 a.m. – 1:10 p.m.), earning starting base pay of $21.93 per hour, with a potential $.50 premium upon achieving Highly Qualified status. This position follows the school calendar and runs ASAP through 9/14/2026 or until filled.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or required per district policy.
• Demonstrates ability to work with children in the 5-12 year age group.

Responsibilities

• Supervise large groups of students during lunch and recess periods.
• Enforce behavioral guidelines and provide consequences as needed.
• Foster positive relationships with students and staff.
• Escort students to lunchrooms, restrooms, and nurse's office as needed.
• Assist with on-site conflict resolution and report incidents to the principal.
• Maintain cleanliness of lunch areas and support daily duties as assigned.
• Support safe movement of groups to and from recess, including near parking areas.
• Uphold confidentiality and behavior standards with students and families.
