Job summary

Chelmsford Public Schools is seeking a Lunch/Recess Aide at Harrington Elementary School to provide supervision during lunch and recess.

The role supports a team of 8 aides, helps with opening lunch materials, supervising play, and assisting teachers and staff with miscellaneous tasks as needed.

Requirements include a High School Diploma and experience with children; hours are 15 per week across an 181-day work year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Experience working with children.
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the elementary level.
• Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunch and recess to maintain safety.
• Assist with opening lunch materials and cleaning tables.
• Support teachers and staff with classroom, office, or library tasks.
• Work as part of a team of 8 recess aides to create a caring environment.
