Job summary

Chelmsford Public Schools is seeking a Lunch/Recess Aide for Chelmsford High School to supervise students during lunch and breaks, ensuring a safe, orderly environment. The role emphasizes teamwork and positive communication with students and staff.

Hours are 10:30 am - 1:00 pm (2.5 hours daily) within an 181-day work year; reports to the School Principal. A high school diploma and experience working with children are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Experience working with children and/or teens is required.
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the high school level.
• Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide student supervision to maintain a well-organized, smoothly functioning school environment.
• Manage students during meal service and monitor safety and social interactions.
• Communicate with students and staff in a positive professional manner.
• Supervise students during break time and circulate throughout the cafeteria or areas where meals are served.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
