Job summary

Forcey Christian School seeks a caring, Christ-centered Long-Term Substitute Teacher for an elementary classroom to provide instructional continuity during a teacher absence. The role emphasizes a safe, engaging learning environment, academic challenge, and a biblical worldview across instruction.

The substitute will cover daily responsibilities, maintain instructional excellence, and communicate professionally with parents and staff while participating as an active school community member.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; associate degree and 3 to 4 years of experience considered.
• Teachable, flexible; classroom management is a must-have
• Experience teaching or working with elementary-aged children preferred.
• Demonstrated Christian faith consistent with the mission and values of Forcey Christian School.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, parents, and administration.
• Successful completion of all required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily instruction using the school’s approved curriculum and lesson plans.
• Create a classroom environment that promotes academic growth, positive behavior, and Christian character.
• Assess student learning and provide timely feedback.
• Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and classroom records.
• Integrate biblical principles throughout instruction whenever appropriate.
• Establish and maintain classroom expectations consistent with school policies.
• Foster a respectful, nurturing, and Christ-honoring classroom culture.
• Promote student responsibility, cooperation, and servant leadership.
• Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.
• Collaborate with administrators, grade-level teachers, specialists, and support staff.
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Attend required faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as assigned.
• Participate in lesson planning and curriculum discussions.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school operations.
