Job summary

Greenwich Public Schools seeks two 0.5 FTE long-term substitute literacy specialists for New Lebanon Elementary School through approximately February 26, 2027; each position carries full salary and benefits for the duration of the assignment.

These educators will implement the GPS literacy curriculum, assess and diagnose student literacy needs, and deliver targeted instruction to diverse learners while collaborating with teachers and participating in data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• CT State Certification or certifiability in remedial reading/language arts.
• Outstanding ability as an elementary literacy educator.
• Experience using a learning management system.

Responsibilities

• Implements GPS literacy curriculum aligned with standards and district goals.
• Participates in the School Data Team and discusses student progress with staff and families.
• Provides intensive literacy instruction to struggling readers.
• Screens referrals and designs individualized literacy programs.
• Collaborates with classroom teachers, models best practices, and co-teaches as needed.
• Provides feedback to improve student achievement.
