Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an experienced Facilitator, Elementary School Literacy to support reading and writing programs and coach teachers in Charlotte, NC. The position is 10 months, starts 9/21, with open and closing dates in CMS.

The successful candidate will organize and monitor literacy initiatives, provide PLC support, use data to guide instruction, and collaborate with school leaders to raise student achievement in K-5 reading and MG ELA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience.
• Valid NC teaching license in K-5 or K-12 Reading or MG ELA or HS Reading required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Organize, disseminate and monitor reading/writing programs for quality assurance.
• Coach and model effective teaching strategies through classroom visits.
• Conduct follow-up conferences with teachers to provide actionable feedback.
• Develop and evaluate building-level professional development aligned to school goals.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align standards, curricula, and assessment tools.
• Prepare reporting for school administrators and department leadership.
