Job summary

Alpha School is seeking an Elementary Learning Coach to guide K-3 students through app-based core learning, identify gaps, and drive weekly goals using data and targeted interventions.

You will spend about 70% of your day with students in classroom activities and about 30% on targeted reading sessions, coordinating with families and campus staff to close reading gaps.

Relocation support is available; this is a full-time, on-site role with benefits and a path to leadership as campuses expand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Structured-literacy training or master's in reading/literacy required or highly preferred.
• Teaching certificate not required.

Responsibilities

• Coaching K-3 students through app-based core learning and targeted literacy sessions.
• Diagnosing reading gaps and delivering short, diagnostic sequences.
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and daily routines on campus.
• Driving weekly app goals using school currency, leaderboards, and gamification.
• Staying with students through lunch, recess, closing, and reading interventions.

Education

Bachelor's degree in any subject

Structured-literacy training LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, Really Great Reading, or similar; or a master's in reading or literacy

Completed teaching certificate (not required)
