Job summary

The educator will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and district teams to ensure a vibrant, inclusive library environment and access to diverse resources that meet curriculum needs and student interests.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts educator license as a Library Teacher appropriate for the grade level of the position.
• Ability to teach information literacy, research, inquiry, media literacy, source evaluation, citation, copyright, and ethical information use.

Responsibilities

• Leads the organization, development, and ongoing evaluation of the school library program and learning commons.
• Creates a welcoming, inclusive, student-centered library environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, independent learning, and belonging.
• Promotes a strong culture of reading and encourages students to read widely for learning and growth.
• Provides access to diverse print, digital, and multimedia resources representing various perspectives and reading levels.
• Teaches information literacy, research, media literacy, and digital citizenship.
• Collaborates with teachers to design and deliver research, literacy, and interdisciplinary learning experiences.
