Job summary

Victory College Prep School Network is seeking an Elementary School Lead Teacher (4th Grade Math) to implement state standards and engage students with rigorous, curriculum-aligned lessons. The role requires differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs and maintaining strong communication with families.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree and a valid teaching license (or is pursuing licensure).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Valid Teaching License (or interest in a licensure program)
  • Willingness to build and maintain a cooperative relationship with a co-teacher
  • Competency in using technology in the classroom setting
  • Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
  • Strong desire to work within an innovative, urban educational program
  • Ability to lead a classroom using an age appropriate curriculum

Responsibilities

  • Use state standards and curriculum to internalize rigorous, objective-driven lessons aligned with school maps.
  • Differentiate for individual students based on learning needs.
  • Implement classroom procedures and routines to provide structure and maximize instructional time.
  • Regularly assess and track student performance toward ambitious outcomes.
  • Use data to reflect on lesson effectiveness and student achievement progress.
  • Present academic content through varied instructional strategies to reach all learners.
  • Communicate frequently with student families; respond to calls and emails.
  • Utilize restorative practices to build positive classroom culture.
  • Collaborate with Behavior Support to address student emotional well-being.

  • Implement classroom procedures, systems, and routines that provide structure for students and maximize instructional time.
  • Regularly assess and track student performance towards ambitious student academic outcomes goals.
  • Use data to reflect on effectiveness of lessons and student achievement progress in order to improve instruction and teaching practice.
  • Present academic content through a variety of instructional strategies to reach all learners
  • Communicate frequently and effectively with student families; promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
  • Uses restorative practices to build positive classroom culture
  • Works with the Behavior Support team to address student emotional and mental well being and needs.
