Job summary

The Revere Local School District is seeking an Intensive Needs Aide at Richfield Elementary School to support students with disabilities in the classroom. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; may require pre-employment skill test.
• Licensure through the State Board of Education (Aide Permit).
• Maintain a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
• Participate in required training (Vehicle Safety, First Aid, CPR, Crisis Intervention, Blood Borne Pathogens).
• Comply with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of information relating to students.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the academic program and instructional activities under the guidance of the assigned teacher.
• Work with small groups and/or individual students.
• Acquire basic proficiency in skills that support student needs (e.g., sign language).
• Help students with remedial and/or enrichment activities.
• Prepare and distribute classroom materials; maintain records as directed.
• Assist in supervision of students during lunch, arrival/departure, and field trips.
• Follow prescribed behavior plans and provide accommodations.
• Promote student independence with fading support where directed.
• Prepare classroom equipment and utilize technology.
