Qualifications

• Requires high school transcript or equivalency with one of: Associate degree or higher with GPA 2.0+, or 60 college credits, or Para Pro Test 459+.
• Strong communication skills in writing and speaking English.
• Second language skills may be required by assignment.
• Experience with children in varied settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of behavior management procedures is preferred.
• Familiarity with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of students in school and community environments.
• Protect student confidentiality.
• Collaborate with teachers and specialists to plan activities and resources.
• Work with students individually, in small groups, or in class settings.
• Support learning across math, science, English, social studies, and electives.
• Assist in monitoring student progress, including data collection and computer work.
• Report student information and concerns to teachers or administrators.
• Maintain discipline using behavior plans as directed.
• Assist with routine tasks and classroom duties as needed.
• Supervise social interactions during bus duty, meals, recess, and field trips.
