Job summary

Kansas City Public Schools is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional for the Knotts/Success Academy site in Kansas City, Missouri. Starting immediately, you will assist teachers with planning, small-group instruction and implementing the Project Construct Curriculum to promote growth in language, social, and motor skills.

Responsibilities include crafts, parent collaboration, and home visits as needed. Benefits include health/dental insurance and pension options.

Qualifications

Knowledge of the Project Construction Curriculum
Skills in working with children and their parents
Desire to work with elementary grade children

Responsibilities

Work with teachers in team teaching and planning.
Provide small group and circle time instruction.
Support Project Construct Curriculum with children and parents.
Prepare crafts, art, sensory materials, and snacks.
Cooperate with parents and classroom volunteers.
Assist in home visits and family support.
Participate in program planning committees and parent involvement.
Attend orientation and in-service training and serve as group leader.
Plan activities to develop language, social, and motor skills.
Instruct in personal cleanliness and self-care.
Alternate periods of activity and rest to avoid fatigue.
Help children care for clothing and tidy toys and books.
Perform Administrative Case Management to inform families about health resources under Medicaid.
