Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce classroom instruction.
• Assist students with assignments, activities, and classroom routines.
• Monitor students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, hallways, and other school activities.
• Support positive student behavior and reinforce classroom and school expectations.
• Assist with student supervision to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
• Provide accommodations and support as directed by the teacher.
• Help track student progress and share relevant observations with the classroom teacher.
• Use classroom technology and educational programs to support student learning.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters.
• Collaborate professionally with teachers, staff members, and administrators.
• Participate in required meetings, training, and professional development.
• Maintain a substitute teaching permit and substitute on an as needed basis.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the teacher or school administration.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate degree, relevant college coursework, or successful completion of the required paraprofessional assessment preferred
• Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, or similar setting preferred
• Ability to maintain student confidentiality and demonstrate professional judgment
