Job summary

ESS is hiring a Substitute Paraprofessional to support classroom teachers in the Chichester School District in Aston, PA. The role focuses on providing extra instructional support to students with special needs and helping with daily classroom activities.

You may be one of several paraprofessional positions available across the district. Responsibilities include reinforcing instruction, assisting with classroom management, supervising students, and supporting administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• PA Act 24 arrest/conviction report and certificate required.
• PA Act 34 state police clearance required.
• Federal Act 114 background clearance required.
• PA Child Abuse Clearance required.
• PA Act 168 sexual misconduct disclosure release required.
• TB test/physical required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups.
• Assist teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class.
• Assist with administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials.
• Supervise students in the cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, on field trips, and before/after school programs.
• Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs.
• Support students with special needs by following provisions in IEPs/504 Plans.
• Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration.
