Job summary

Royal Prairie Elementary School in Katy, Texas is seeking an Educational Aide to provide instructional support under the supervision of a certified teacher. You will assist with reading, writing, and mathematics, help prepare instructional materials, and support day-to-day classroom activities.

You should have college hours or an associate’s degree and preferably a Texas educational aide certificate, plus experience with children.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: College hours preferred - Associate’s degree, two years of study at an institution of higher learning, or have met formal academic assessment as required by the No Child Left Behind Act
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate - Preferred
• Experience: Some experience working with children

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Participate in staff development training programs.
• Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
