Qualifications

• Associate degree or 48 college hours required
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate
• Ability to assist with classroom instruction and work with children

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to students as assigned by the teacher and work with individual students and small groups
• Assist with instructional materials, scoring assignments, preparing records and reports, and maintaining a neat and orderly learning environment
• Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers, as needed
• Assist in conducting parent involvement activities
• Assist with classroom management and supervise students throughout the day
• Keep the teacher informed of special needs and issues of individual students
• Maintain familiarity with district curriculum and initiatives and participate in professional development
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and events as assigned
• Establish and maintain professional communication with students, parents, and colleagues
