Job summary

Whitefish School District 44 invites applications for an elementary Health/Physical Education teacher to serve as a long-term substitute at Whitefish Middle School in Montana. The assignment runs approximately February 1, 2027 to June 10, 2027.

The successful candidate will deliver interdisciplinary health/PE instruction, align with district strategic plan, and support student well-being through engaging lessons and safe practices.

Qualifications

Must hold Montana K-12 Health/Physical Education licensure or K-8 elementary endorsement.
Proven success as Health/Physical Education teacher, classroom, or pre-service teacher.
Deep understanding of child/adolescent development with the ability to build strong rapport with students.
Exceptional interpersonal communication to collaborate with families, staff, and the public.
Commitment to high character, student achievement, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Take holistic accountability for students’ academic and social growth in alignment with the District’s Strategic Plan.
Deliver integrated, multi-disciplinary lessons using diverse strategies to meet individual student needs.
Administer standardized testing per policy; evaluate growth and provide placement recommendations.
Create engaging classrooms using technology and displays to translate lesson plans into learning experiences.
