Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Texas Teacher certificate at the appropriate level for assignment.
  • ACCEPTED in an approved ACP and passed prerequisite examinations.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations preferred.
  • Experience working with gifted learners preferred.
  • Bilingual fluency is beneficial in some settings.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the District curriculum with rigorous instruction and standards-based objectives.
  • Monitor student progress and differentiate instruction to meet individual needs.
  • Develop units with enrichment, differentiation and project-based learning.
  • Assess mastery using multiple tools and document student growth.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and state/local assessment records.
  • Engage parents via conferences and ongoing communication about progress.
