Job summary

Davenport Community Schools seeks a Talented and Gifted (Elementary) educator to support the TAG program across multiple buildings in Davenport, IA. The candidate will design rigorous, differentiated instruction, collaborate with teachers, and coordinate TAG identification and related assessments.

Strong interpersonal skills are essential to build rapport with diverse students. Attending MTSS initiatives and engaging families are also expected responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students.
• Ability to work as a team member and contribute to collaborative planning.
• Expert knowledge in differentiated instruction and designing rigorous, engaging tasks.

Responsibilities

• Build an effective schedule that supports the TAG Program model (push in, pull out, consultative).
• Embed NAGC TAG standards, PLC Question #4, and Universal Constructs in instruction and course work.
• Implement grade level TAG guaranteed and viable curriculum following scope & sequence.
• Coordinate student identification and administration of assessments.
• Provide direct instruction in TAG areas across K-12 with emphasis on higher order thinking.
• Provide staff development for general education teachers on TAG services.
• Collaborate with teachers to support TAG in the general education setting.
• Maintain high standards of pupil behavior and a positive learning atmosphere.
• Be willing to participate in MTSS initiatives district-wide.
• Encourage parental involvement and communicate regularly with parents, teachers and students.
