The Grosse Pointe Public School System is seeking a Mason Elementary Head Custodian/Engineer to manage heating, ventilation, and building maintenance. This role may include lead Engineer designation and requires coordinating custodial staff to ensure safe, clean facilities.

The position is full-time and 12 months per year, with a 7:00 am to 3:00 pm start window. Compensatory pay includes E-1 $19.96–$23.46 per hour plus up to $0.73 per hour education credits, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience operating, maintaining, and repairing power plant equipment.
• Knowledge of steam boilers, air conditioning, refrigeration units.
• Ability to supervise custodial staff and coordinate schedules.
• Must lift over 50 lbs. and perform heavy physical labor.
• Within two years of starting, obtain a Low-pressure boiler license.

Responsabilités

• Oversee heating, ventilation, cleaning, and staff supervision.
• Assist admin in evaluating and scheduling custodial staff.
• Clean assigned areas and coordinate special maintenance.
• Remove snow and maintain lawns.
• Prepare for/clean after lunch hour.
• Perform duties as assigned by supervisor.
