Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana is seeking adjunct faculty to teach assigned courses, creating a learning environment that helps students reach their goals and deliver instruction within the school's common syllabi.

This is a temporary, part-time role hired each semester; responsibilities include delivering instruction, using Canvas, keeping attendance and grades, and being available to students outside class time. Spring term on campus with daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Possesses an earned master's or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in education or a related field appropriate to the program, AND Current or expired professional state teaching license/certification and At least three years of K-12 teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
• Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught and follow syllabus content and requirements.
• Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
• Submit requested information within established timelines.
• Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
• Uses technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
• Be available to students outside of scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
• Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.
• In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair.

Education

Master's degree or higher in education or related field; current or expired K-12 teaching license/certification; 3+ years of K-12 teaching experience
