Job summary

Green Acres Elementary in Manchester, NH seeks a 26/27 SY Elementary DHH ASL Interpreter to support Deaf/Hard of Hearing students within the Manchester School District. The interpreter will facilitate communication, provide tutoring support, and adapt to diverse classroom settings according to student needs.

The role requires signing proficiency, state and national certifications are considered, and the position follows the MESPA calendar with 6.5 hours per day.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, BA/BS preferred or comparable experience.
• Passing grade on the practical examination in signing from NH DOE.
• Educational interpreter certification from another state or national RID/NAD certification.
• Passing grade on the written NHEIPA exam.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication between Deaf/Hard of Hearing students and others.
• Relay information accurately between Deaf students and others.
• Familiarize with each Deaf student’s preferred modes of communication.
• Prepare for assignments by becoming familiar with subject area and vocabulary.

Education

Associates Degree, BA/BS preferred or comparable experience
