Job summary

School of the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, located in Baltimore, MD, seeks an Elementary Daily Substitute Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The substitute will supervise and instruct students in the absence of a teacher, follow lesson plans, maintain a positive learning environment, and support the Catholic mission.

Essential duties include supervising students, following provided plans, and collaborating with staff.

Qualifications

• Degree in Elementary Education preferred.
• Knowledge of child development and supervision preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certified preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the active supervision of students at all times.
• Oversee the instruction of students following the plans provided by the regular teacher.
• Follow daily routine of teacher or IA and fill in for duties outside the classroom such as morning drop-off or pick-up as needed.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, assistants, staff and administration.
• Maintain high professional and personal standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Interact effectively and respond to communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.
