Job summary

School of the Incarnation in Odenton, Maryland, seeks an Elementary Daily Substitute Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The substitute will supervise and instruct students when the regular teacher is absent, follow provided lesson plans, and maintain a positive learning environment.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Elementary Education or MSDE certification and have experience in Catholic school settings.

Qualifications

• Degree in Elementary Education preferred.
• MSDE certification preferred.
• Knowledge of child development and supervision preferred.
• Experience teaching in an elementary Catholic school setting preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certified preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the active supervision of students at all times.
• Oversee instruction of students following plans provided by the regular teacher.
• Follow daily routine and cover duties outside the classroom as needed.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, assistants, staff and administration.
• Maintain high professional standards consistent with the school’s mission.
• Interact professionally and respond to communications in a timely manner.
