Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of district resources.
• Prepares for classes and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Employs various instructional techniques and media appropriate to the students.
• Strives to implement district education goals and objectives.
• Protects students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Evaluates student progress regularly.
• Keeps accurate records as required by policy and law.
• Upholds school rules and policies.
• Makes themselves available to students/parents outside instructional day when requested.
• Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
• Cooperates with staff in planning goals and methods.
• Assists in selecting books and materials.
• Shares responsibility for co-curricular activities as assigned.
• Maintains open communication with students and parents about academic and behavioral progress.
• Establishes cooperative relations with others.
• Pursues professional growth through reading, workshops and courses.
