PRIMARY TASKS & MAJOR ACTIVITIES Plan, instruct, and assess the district curriculum. Accountable for organization and maintaining classroom management to ensure maximum student engagement and learning. Implement Readers' Workshop, Writers' Workshop, and Math Workshop, including the willingness to implement small, flexible groups. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to build positive relationships with all stakeholders. The candidate will be a team player with a strong understanding of the Missouri Learning Standards and technology integration. Knowledge and use of research-based instructional strategies. Participate in district and building professional development opportunities. Participate in grade level and building meetings. Work successfully as part of a team in a highly collaborative manner. Strong classroom management skills and interpersonal relations. Understand and implement Missouri Learning Standards into the curriculum.
Educational/Skills/Experience Required
Current Missouri Certification in Elementary Education B-3 or 1-6. Knowledge of Professional Learning Communities (PLC's) and/or desire to learn Response to Intervention. Knowledge of and/or desire to learn research-based instructional strategies and integrate technology into the classroom. Knowledge of and/or desire to learn Missouri Learning Standards and formal and informal assessment strategies. Willingness to collaborate with peers. Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education. Willingness to understand and support District's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan.
