POSITION

Livonia Public Schools is seeking a passionate and student-centered Elementary Classroom Teacher committed to building strong relationships and creating meaningful learning experiences within a supportive school community. This educator designs and delivers engaging, priority standards-aligned instruction grounded in rigorous and consistent Tier One practices to meet the diverse needs of all learners.

IN AND OUT OF DISTRICT

In alignment with the district's MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) framework, the teacher uses data to inform instruction, monitor progress, and provide targeted support during dedicated intervention time to ensure student success. Strong, ongoing communication with families is essential, with an emphasis on partnership and collaboration. Active participation in the teacher's Professional Learning Team is an essential component of this role. Livonia Public Schools employs approximately 1,800 staff members, serving approximately 13,100 students pre-K post secondary. There are 15 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 3 high schools, 1 career technical center, 1 early childhood center and 1 vocational and transition center in the School District. The annual budget for Livonia Public Schools is $180 million, with a state funding of $10,000 per pupil.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education


• Valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework


• Knowledge of and experience with evidence-based Tier One instructional practices, particularly in literacy and mathematics


• Experience in differentiating instruction to meet a wide range of student needs, including students with disabilities and English learners


• Familiarity with social-emotional learning (SEL) practices and classroom community-building strategies


• Experience integrating instructional technology to enhance student learning


• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a professional learning community (PLC)

MAJOR FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and other core content areas using district priority standards and curriculum resources


• Implement rigorous and consistent Tier One instructional practices, using data to inform instruction and adjust to meet the needs of all learners


• Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment where students feel respected, supported, and motivated to learn


• Build strong relationships with students and establish clear expectations that support a respectful and productive learning environment


• Actively participates in and contributes to professional learning teams (PLT) as part of the school improvement process at the district and school level


• Differentiate instruction through whole group, small group, and individualized supports to meet the diverse needs of all learners


• Monitor student learning through ongoing assessment, maintain accurate records, and communicate student progress to families in a timely and meaningful way


• Actively engage families as partners through consistent, clear, and collaborative communication


• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to implement the District's MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) framework, including identifying student needs and providing targeted interventions and supports

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

The work year, salary, and fringe benefits will be consistent with the current agreement between the Board of Education and the Livonia Education Association.
