Job summary

WJCC Public Schools in Virginia seeks a Teacher Assistant II to support the classroom teacher, reinforce instruction, and provide targeted practice for students in an elementary setting.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED and six months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, and to communicate clearly in speech and writing.
• Patience, dependability, and ability to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Assists in skills practice and reinforcement activities with students individually or in groups.
• Helps develop skills through flashcards, games, worksheets, and instructional aids.
• Keeps attendance, lunch, and classroom operation records; maintains student records.
• Supervises students and escorts them to buses, lunch, study halls, and classrooms.
• Prepares and maintains bulletin boards, instructional materials, and surplus supplies.
• Performs clerical duties and helps with technology, photocopying, laminating, and materials.
